How to Run a WiFi Health Check Using the Webafrica Mobile App

If you’re experiencing slow speeds or unreliable connectivity, the Health Check tool in the Webafrica mobile app can help identify possible issues with your WiFi setup.

1. Go to the Scan Section

  • Tap Scan at the bottom of the app.
  • Select “Start Your Scan” under Run A Health Check.

2. Before You Start

You’ll be asked to:

  • Enable your location – This helps the app detect your WiFi accurately.
  • Connect to your WiFi network – Make sure you’re connected to the correct WiFi before scanning.

3. Grant Location Permission

The app requires precise location access to analyse your WiFi network:

  1. Tap Continue.
  2. You’ll be prompted to allow location access. Tap Go to Settings.
  3. Under app permissions, set Location to Allow only while using the app.

4. Get Close to Your Router

  • Move near your WiFi router for best results.
  • Tap Continue when ready.

5. Wait While the Scan Runs

  • The scan may take up to 2 minutes.
  • Keep the screen open during the scan.

6. View Your Results

Once done, you’ll see:

  • Download and upload speed results
  • Network health rating
  • A message confirming if any alerts were found

7. What If No Issues Are Found?

If the scan doesn’t find any problems but you’re still having issues:

  • Try rebooting your router.
  • Use the Live Chat feature to troubleshoot further.
  • Check for network outages in your area using the same Scan tab.
