{"id":135,"date":"2020-09-01T12:08:23","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T12:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=135"},"modified":"2020-09-01T12:08:24","modified_gmt":"2020-09-01T12:08:24","slug":"yealink-w52p-manual-set-up","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/index.php\/knowledge-base\/yealink-w52p-manual-set-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Yealink W52P \u2013 Manual Set-up"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>GETTING STARTED<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With most IP-based devices such as routers and VoIP phones, you can log into the device via a web browser using the IP address of the device &#8211; and the W52P is no different.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017269037\/original\/xk13djItHBS0Vz7JYGhqSVhrm6nf2Wt9dg.png?1572347111\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Logging into and configuring your Yealink phone system<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check that the physical set-up is correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ensure that your base station is connected to your router using an Ethernet\/LAN cable.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Finding your device&#8217;s IP is easy. Use a handset that is already associated with the connected base station. Press&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;OK &gt;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Status&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;and the relevant IP details will be displayed on the handset&#8217;s screen. In other words, on the phone, press&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;OK&#8221;&nbsp;<\/strong>twice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017523944\/original\/1NL_3hTio6nFeSey-FqfC8SWFUSjWaFjLw.png?1573540648\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FIRST LOGINS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can access the Yealink W52P by entering the IP address in your web browser. This is the case for any standard ADSL router too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you have no IP address it means the handset is not registered to the base station.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To register the handset to the base station press the&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"36\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017269171\/original\/Fot_hpQX8IFJ5Z4ZHNRd_SEDC8-GtEnwHA.png?1572347554\">button on the base station for two seconds, then press&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;OK&#8221;&nbsp;<\/strong>on the handset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017523956\/original\/3NAN_Y1mwi-S06hzWLgz9AGNaAnskpULpw.png?1573540716\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This will take you to a login screen. &nbsp;The default login credentials to most Yealink devices is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Username:&nbsp;<strong>admin&nbsp;<\/strong>and Password:&nbsp;<strong>admin&nbsp;<\/strong>as per below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017523963\/original\/fcNpnjAPzQOeIabIfTHCWQ0APsKZqzTGww.png?1573540762\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MANUALLY CONFIGURING THE SIP ACCOUNT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the first page after login, select the \u201c<strong>Account<\/strong>\u201d Tab then \u201c<strong>Register<\/strong>\u201d on the menu on the left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the &#8220;<strong>Account&#8221;&nbsp;<\/strong>page, go to&nbsp;<strong>\u201cLine Active\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;and select&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Enabled&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once enabled, you will need to complete the following fields with the VoIP number (as per the screenshot):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Label<\/li><li>Display Name<\/li><li>Register Name<\/li><li>Username (Username and Register Name are generally the same and are the value determined on the client\u2019s account)<\/li><li>Password&nbsp;<\/li><li>Server Host (<strong>Under SIP Server 1<\/strong>) (This can be either hostname or IP of the VoIP server)&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once complete and in order, scroll down and select&nbsp;<strong>\u201cConfirm\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017523992\/original\/UC8b5y7k5RkPVMIUcksp15sD-weKpGVENQ.png?1573540897\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You will see the page refresh and change from a&nbsp;<strong>\u201cRegistering\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;state to a&nbsp;<strong>\u201cRegistered\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have an issue and the page doesn\u2019t change to a&nbsp;<strong>\u201cRegistered\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;state and perform the troubleshooting steps outlined for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ADDING AN ADDITIONAL HANDSET TO AN EXISTING LINE<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have two handsets and only one VoIP account you will need to allocate both handsets to use the same line. To do this follow the above guide to add an account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once completed select&nbsp;<strong>\u201cNumber Assignment\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;under the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cAccount\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The device is capable of having&nbsp;<strong>five<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;lines and five handsets<\/strong>&nbsp;assigned to it in total, as you can see in the screen below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017524015\/original\/bLOU6f3a_ljdkHi2avDx-ykqJ1tRNHGOSw.png?1573541028\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After checking that both handsets are paired to the base station, ensure that the second handset is assigned to the account you have configured on line 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selecting&nbsp;<strong>confirm&nbsp;<\/strong>will&nbsp;<strong>save the settings.<\/strong>&nbsp;Should you receive a call on your line, both phones will ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FACTORY RESET<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are faced with a situation where you need to reset the base station to clear all the configurations that were present on the device, you will need to log into the device following the first guide shown in this document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once in, select the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cSettings\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then select the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cUpgrade\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017524035\/original\/t_q8M3XveTxeqN9eLbXI2sq3KGrgwVNjvg.png?1573541112\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A screen with the option to<strong>&nbsp;\u201cReset to factory setting\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;will appear. Please select this option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27017524039\/original\/63x37FM0cHtZc-w_nZ0eGSBgkNoC786OJQ.png?1573541158\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be asked to confirm this action, select&nbsp;<strong>\u201cOK\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The device will take a few minutes to perform the reset and once complete you will need to reconfigure the device as seen above in the past sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please see our PDF attached with Set-up guide and Comprehensive guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW TO DISABLE GHOST CALLS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>At the top of the Yealink control panel click on the tab labelled \u201cFeatures\u201d<\/li><li>On the left side menu of the features tab click the tab called \u201cGeneral Information\u201d<\/li><li>At the bottom of the page you will see the following options:<\/li><li>Accept SIP Trust Server Only \u2013 this should be enabled<\/li><li>Allow IP Call \u2013 this should be disabled<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Save your changes and exit the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should no longer receive ghost calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27012475245\/original\/bVQG6WZY-ymmYpsaAdWGDF24MAKc72FDTQ.JPG?1552049617\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Please note: All Webafrica deals and packages are subject to change without notification.
