{"id":141,"date":"2020-09-01T12:12:50","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T12:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=141"},"modified":"2026-06-26T11:48:03","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T11:48:03","slug":"how-to-port-your-existing-landline-number","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/index.php\/knowledge-base\/how-to-port-your-existing-landline-number\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Port Your Existing Landline Number to Webafrica"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have an existing Telkom landline number, you can request to port the number to your Webafrica VoIP service from your Customer Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Porting lets you keep your existing number while moving it to a Webafrica VoIP service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before You Start<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before requesting a number port, please make sure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You have an active Webafrica VoIP service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The number you want to port is still active with your current provider.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You have permission to port the number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your account details with your current provider are correct.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You have your banking details ready for the debit order mandate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Number porting can take up to 21 days. We may contact you for additional information after your request is submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Request a Number Port<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Log Into Your Customer Zone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Log into your Webafrica Customer Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Go to My Services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the menu on the left, select <strong>My Services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then select <strong>All Services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Open Your VoIP Service<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find your VoIP service in the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select the <strong>view<\/strong> icon next to the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4: Select Change<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the service details page, select <strong>Change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A menu will appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select <strong>Port Number<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5: Complete the Porting Order<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will be taken to the checkout page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Complete the required banking details and enter the telephone number you want to port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number must be entered in the correct format, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>+27123456789<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6: Accept the Debit Order Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read the debit order mandate terms and conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tick the box to accept the terms and conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 7: Complete the Order<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once all required fields are completed, select <strong>Complete Order<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your porting request will then be submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Long Does Number Porting Take?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The full number porting process can take up to 21 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The timeframe depends on the information provided, the current provider, and whether any additional checks or documents are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Things to Know<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The number you want to port must still be active.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not cancel the number with your current provider before the port is complete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cancelling the number too early may cause the port to fail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We may contact you if more information is needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A porting fee may apply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The account holder and bank account holder may need to be the same for the debit order mandate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Happens After I Submit the Request?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once your request is submitted, Webafrica will process the porting order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If anything else is needed, we will contact you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the port is complete, your number will work on your Webafrica VoIP service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have an existing Telkom landline number, you can request to port the number to your Webafrica VoIP service from your Customer Zone.
