{"id":1593,"date":"2026-07-21T10:25:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T10:25:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=1593"},"modified":"2026-07-21T11:14:26","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T11:14:26","slug":"setting-up-your-vuma-reach-ont-and-wifi","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/index.php\/knowledge-base\/setting-up-your-vuma-reach-ont-and-wifi\/","title":{"rendered":"Setting Up Your Vuma Reach ONT and WiFi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike our other Fibre services, Vuma Reach does not use a separate router.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Vuma Reach ONT, which is the box installed on your wall, connects you to the Fibre network and provides your WiFi connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"701\" height=\"467\" src=\"https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1594\" srcset=\"https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image.jpg 701w, https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-50x33.jpg 50w, https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-60x40.jpg 60w, https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-100x67.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 701px) 100vw, 701px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vuma Reach ONT mounted on a wall<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting your WiFi details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once your Vuma Reach service is active, we will send you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An SMS containing your WiFi name and password<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A WhatsApp message confirming that your service is active<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep the SMS somewhere safe, as you will need these details to connect your devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also view or change your WiFi details using the Webafrica app or Customer Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connecting your devices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the WiFi settings on your phone, laptop, tablet or other device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the WiFi name provided in your activation SMS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your WiFi password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open a website or app to confirm that you are connected.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Viewing or changing your WiFi details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the Webafrica app<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Webafrica app and log in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>My Products<\/strong> from the dashboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your <strong>Fibre: Vuma Reach<\/strong> service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>WiFi Details<\/strong>, you will see your WiFi Access Point name and password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap the eye icon to view your password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Change Password<\/strong> to update it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Customer Zone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to your Webafrica Customer Zone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>My Products &amp; Services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find your Vuma Reach service under <strong>Included Services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the gear icon next to your Fibre Prepaid line.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open <strong>Information<\/strong> to view your WiFi Access Point name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open <strong>WiFi Details<\/strong> to view or change your password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the eye icon to view your current password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To change it, enter and confirm your new password, then select <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the QR code on my ONT?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The QR code on your ONT is labelled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Scan the QR code for more information about your fibre line<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This QR code does not contain your WiFi details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scanning it takes you to information about your Fibre line and may also help you resolve account or payment issues.
