{"id":175,"date":"2020-09-01T17:42:23","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T17:42:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=175"},"modified":"2020-09-01T17:42:25","modified_gmt":"2020-09-01T17:42:25","slug":"creating-a-pppoe-client-connection","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/knowledge.webafrica.co.za\/index.php\/knowledge-base\/creating-a-pppoe-client-connection\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating a PPPOE Client Connection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>You can install a PPPoE client just like you install any other dial-up networking connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To create a PPPoE client connection, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Windows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network and Internet Connections.<br>Click Network Connections, and then click Create a new connection in the Network Tasks pane.<br>After the Network Connection Wizard starts, click Next.<br>Click Connect to the Internet, and then click Next.<br>Click Set up my connection manually, and then click Next.<br>Click either Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password or Connects using a broadband connection that is always on.<br>Type Web Africa, and then click Next.<br>Type your username.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Type your password.<br>Type the password one more time to confirm it, and then click Next.<br>Click Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop.<br>Click Finish to complete the Wizard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mac OS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On your Mac, choose Apple menu&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27016242699\/original\/bPpN4DgTqE9MRhmlW_JWZH0Zc4JPMMdP8Q.png?1567769664\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\">&nbsp;&gt; System Preferences, then click Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the Add button&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/27016242698\/original\/pQV98rXys3NDk74JuxilTLZpEK5FPeY2Kg.png?1567769664\" alt=\"\" width=\"32\">&nbsp;at the bottom of the list on the left, click the Interface pop-up menu, then choose PPPoE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the Ethernet pop-up menu choose an interface for the PPPoE service, give it service a name, then click Create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enter the information you received from your ISP, such as account name, password and the PPPoE service name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to use the PPPoE status icon to connect or disconnect from the Internet or to open Network preferences, select \u201cShow PPPoE status in menu bar\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<em>Please note: All Webafrica deals and packages are subject to change without notification.
