These freezes help ensure network stability during a time when staffing and operational capacity are reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While essential services remain operational, certain activities such as new installations, upgrades, or planned maintenance may be limited or paused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Is a Network Freeze?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A network freeze is a period where:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Planned network maintenance is paused<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New fibre installations may be limited or unavailable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network upgrades and line changes may be delayed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only emergency faults and outages are prioritised<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support teams may operate with skeleton staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Confirmed FNO Freeze Periods<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frogfoot<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Freeze period:<\/strong> 12 December 2025 to 5 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All planned and routine maintenance is on hold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency work will continue where required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network Operations Centre remains operational 24\/7<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Openserve<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Shutdown period:<\/strong> 22 December 2025 to 6 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Last working day before shutdown: 19 December 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Normal operations resume on 7 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skeleton staff available for support during this period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MetroFibre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Freeze period:<\/strong> 15 December 2025 to 11 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No core network changes or planned maintenance permitted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency and standard maintenance tickets remain active<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NOC and maintenance teams on standby<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vumatel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Network maintenance freeze:<\/strong> 12 December 2025 to 12 January 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Civil work and maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Civil work pauses on 12 December 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Civil work resumes on 12 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planned network maintenance is frozen for the duration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Orders and installations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Order placement continues as normal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installations continue until 24 December 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limited ad-hoc installations may take place until 31 December 2025, excluding public holidays<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regular installation scheduling resumes on 2 January 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Core support teams operate with skeleton staff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintenance on major public holidays is limited unless pre-arranged<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Octotel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No installations will take place on 24 to 26 December 2025 and 1 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation activity will continue at reduced capacity outside of these dates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ThinkSpeed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Freeze period:<\/strong> 12 December 2025 to 7 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No installations or network changes during the freeze<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orders placed before 12 December may complete by 15 December 2025, if infrastructure is in place<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support remains available for existing services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Evotel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Office closed from 12 December 2025 to 5 January 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Last installations for the year take place on 19 December 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skeleton staff available via email and WhatsApp during the closure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MTN<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Freeze period:<\/strong> 12 December 2025 to 6 January 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What This Means for You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Faults and outages will still be attended to during the festive season, but response times may be longer than usual due to reduced operational capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are planning a new fibre installation, upgrade, or line change, we strongly recommend placing your order well before mid-December to avoid delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planning ahead beats festive frustration.
