Vuma Reach is a Fibre service supplied by Vumatel and available through Webafrica.
This guide explains what happens from the moment you check coverage until your Vuma Reach Fibre service is installed and activated.
1. Check Vuma Reach coverage
Start by checking whether Vuma Reach is available at your address.
Enter your full address on the Webafrica Fibre coverage map and select the correct address or property pin.
Your address may show as:
- Live: Vuma Reach is available and you can place an order.
- Pre-order: Vuma Reach is planned for your area, but the network is not active yet.
- Not covered: Vuma Reach is not currently available at your address.
Vumatel supplies and maintains the Vuma Reach Fibre network. Webafrica provides your internet package, account, billing and support.
2. Choose your package
Select the Vuma Reach package that best suits your household.
Vuma Reach packages are available as either monthly or prepaid options.
Monthly
Monthly packages are paid using a credit or debit card.
Your card details are captured when you place the order and the card is used for future recurring payments.
Prepaid
Prepaid packages run on a 30-day cycle.
You will need to make a manual payment every 30 days to keep your service active.
When placing your order, make sure you enter the correct:
- Installation address
- Mobile number
- Email address
- Account holder details
These details are used to process your order and contact you about payment, installation and activation.
3. Complete your payment
The payment process depends on the package you selected.
Monthly packages
Complete your first payment using a valid credit or debit card.
The same card will be used for your recurring monthly payments.
Prepaid packages
You must pay for your first 30-day service period in advance.
Your payment details or EasyPay reference may be sent to you by SMS or Email.
You will need to make another payment before the end of each 30-day period to keep your service active.
If your area is still in the pre-order stage, your service period will only begin once the Fibre line is active.
4. Wait for your installation appointment
Once your order has been processed, Vumatel or one of its installation partners will contact you to arrange the installation.
Keep your registered mobile number available and look out for calls or messages about your appointment.
Installation times may depend on:
- Network availability
- Demand in your area
- Access to your property
- The available Fibre route
- Additional network work that may be required
5. Prepare for installation
Before the technician arrives:
- Make sure an adult is home to provide access.
- Get permission from the landlord or property owner if required.
- Make sure the technician can access the property.
- Think about where the WiFi ONT should be installed.
- Choose a central location near a power socket.
- Keep the installation area clear.
The WiFi ONT provides both the Fibre connection and WiFi signal, so its position can affect WiFi coverage around your home.
6. What happens during installation?
The Vumatel technician or installation partner will normally:
- Check the available Fibre route.
- Run the Fibre cable into the property.
- Install the all-in-one WiFi ONT.
- Connect and test the Fibre line.
- Confirm that the installation is complete.
Do not move, open or tamper with the WiFi ONT after installation. Avoid sharply bending the Fibre cable.
7. Activation and connection
Once the installation is complete, Webafrica will activate your service.
Keep the WiFi ONT switched on while activation is being completed.
Once active, connect your devices using the WiFi name and password shown on the WiFi ONT label.
Before the technician leaves
Check that:
- The WiFi ONT is securely installed.
- It is connected to power.
- The Fibre line has been tested.
- You know where to find the WiFi name and password.
- The installation area has been left tidy.
What can delay the installation?
Your order or installation may be delayed when:
- Your address or contact details are incorrect.
- Your area is still in the pre-order stage.
- Vumatel cannot reach you.
- Nobody is available to provide access.
- Permission is required from a landlord or property owner.
- Additional network work is needed.
- The Fibre route is more complicated than expected.
- An appointment is missed or rescheduled.
Keep your contact details up to date and respond to calls or messages about your installation.
