Our Webafrica LTE router is quick to set up and should be online within a few minutes. Follow the steps below to get connected.
What You’ll Need
Before starting, make sure you have:
- Your ZTE K12 LTE router
- An active Telkom LTE nano-SIM card
- Power adapter
- WiFi details on the bottom router label

Step 1: Insert the SIM Card
- Turn the router around.
- Locate the nano-SIM slot at the bottom.
- Insert your nano-SIM card securely into the slot.
Make sure the SIM is active and correctly inserted.

Step 2: Insert the Battery
Some models include a backup battery.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert the battery.
- Close the cover securely.
The router will still work when plugged into power, even if no battery is inserted.

Step 3: Position the Antennas
- Lift both antennas.
- Position them upright.
For the best signal, keep the router near a window and in an open area.

Step 4: Power On the Router
- Connect the power adapter to the router.
- Plug into a wall socket.
- Press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds.
- Wait 1 – 2 minutes while the router starts.
Once started, it should connect to the LTE network automatically.

Step 5: Connect to WiFi
- Check the sticker on the router.
- Find the default WiFi name and password.
- On your phone, laptop, or tablet:
- Open WiFi settings
- Select the router’s WiFi name
- Enter the password
You should now be connected.

Optional: Connect Using a Network Cable
You can connect a computer directly using a LAN cable:
- Plug a network cable into the router LAN port.
- Plug the other end into your computer.
- Internet should connect automatically.

Access Router Settings (Optional)
To change the WiFi name or password:
- Connect to the router’s WiFi.
- Open a web browser.
- Enter the router IP address shown on the label.
- Log in using the default login details.
- Update settings as needed.

Troubleshooting
No internet connection
- Check SIM is inserted correctly
- Restart the router
- Move the router closer to a window
- Wait 2 minutes after powering on
Slow speeds
LTE speed depends on signal strength. Try:
- Placing the router near a window
- Keeping it elevated
- Avoiding metal obstructions
Cannot connect to WiFi
- Check the WiFi password on the router label
- Restart router
- Forget and reconnect to WiFi
