Moving Home with an Existing Vuma Reach ONT

Moving into a property that already has a Vuma Reach ONT installed? You may be able to use the existing equipment, but your current Vuma Reach service cannot be transferred to the new address.

You will need to cancel the service at your old address and place a new order for your new home.

Step 1: Cancel the Service at Your Old Address

Contact our Support Team and request the cancellation of your existing Vuma Reach service.

The Vuma Reach ONT belongs to the property and must be left behind. Do not remove or take the following equipment with you:

  • The Vuma Reach ONT
  • The ONT power supply
  • The Fibre cable and wall fittings

Step 2: Check Coverage at Your New Address

Before placing your new order, check that Vuma Reach is available at your new home.

See Checking Vuma Reach coverage at your address for step-by-step instructions.

Step 3: Place a New Vuma Reach Order

A new Vuma Reach order must be placed for the new address, even when an ONT is already installed.

During the order process, you can choose between the available Vuma Reach Monthly or Prepaid payment options.

Payment is required before the order can be processed.

What Happens to the Existing ONT?

Webafrica will check whether the ONT at the new property can be used for your new service.

The existing ONT may be used if:

  • It is still installed and connected
  • It is not damaged
  • Vumatel can identify the ONT
  • Any previous service linked to it has been cancelled or released

The Vuma Reach ONT includes built-in WiFi, so a separate router is not normally required.

Having an ONT installed does not mean the service is active or ready to use.

If Your Address Cannot Be Found

Contact our Support Team if your new address does not appear during the coverage check.

Have the following information ready:

  • Your full name
  • Email address
  • Contact number
  • Street number and street name
  • Suburb
  • City
  • Province
  • Postal code
  • ERF number, if available

The address may need to be added to Vumatel’s system before an order can be placed. This process can take up to 14 days.

Allow Enough Time

A new Vuma Reach order may take up to 14 days to complete after payment, depending on whether the address and existing ONT can be confirmed.

We recommend placing your new order before cancelling the old service where possible, to reduce the time you may be without an Internet connection.
