How is your Telkom Fixed LTE data made up?
Capped
Your Capped Telkom Fixed LTE data is made up of four different kinds of capped data. Here, we have grouped it into two categories: Anytime Data and Night Surfer Data.
Please note: Telkom data is actually split into four parts.
Anytime Data:
- Inclusive Anytime Bundled Data
- Bonus Anytime Bundled Data
Night Surfer Data:
- Inclusive Night Surfer Bundled Data
- Bonus Night Surfer Bundled Data
For example:
If you have the 20GB+10GB package, you are in fact buying:
- Anytime Data: 10GB Inclusive Anytime Data + 10GB Bonus Anytime Data
- Night Surfer Data: 5GB Inclusive Night Surfer + 5GB Bonus Night Surfer
PLEASE NOTE: We no longer sell Telkom Fixed LTE on Uncapped. However, for customers still on this service, please note the following:
Telkom’s Fixed LTE Uncapped Data Packages on the Telkom network give you Uncapped data with the following Fair Usage Policy (FUP) thresholds applied:
- 10Mbps: 0GB → 150GB
- 4Mbps: 150GB → 200GB
- 2Mbps: 200GB+ (to month-end)
In addition, all P2P/NNTP will be reduced to 128Kbps during network peak times of 6pm to midnight and this traffic will be depleted from the 150GB/50GB of data provided.
The order in which your data is used up or the “burndown” on your data works like this:
- Bonus Data
- Inclusive Anytime Bundle (rollover data first, then newly allocated data)
- Inclusive Night Surfer Bundle (valid from 12am to 7am)
- Top Up Data (if applicable)
Top Up Data: If you choose to top up your capped account, your Top-Up data will be depleted in the same way as the above, according to the size of the Top Up you buy. Your Top Up Data will be used up after your monthly allocated data is finished.
Your Anytime Top Up data is available for 61 days before it expires. Night Surfer Top Up data does not roll over and will expire within 30 days of purchase.
Uncapped Fixed LTE
Our Telkom Fixed LTE Uncapped Data Packages gives you Uncapped data with the following Fair Usage Policy (FUP):
- 10Mbps: 0GB → 150GB
- 4Mbps: 150GB → 200GB
- 2Mbps: 200GB+ (to month-end)
All P2P/NNTP will be reduced to 128Kbps during network peak times of 6pm to midnight and this traffic will be depleted from the 150GB/50GB of data provided.
What this means:
- You start the month with 150GB to use at speeds of up to 10Mbps.
- When you have used up the first 150GB, you have 50GB to use at speeds of up to 4Mbps.
- When you have used up the 50GB of 4Mbps data – you can continue to use the internet for the remainder of the month with speeds up to 2Mbps.
- At the start of the new month, your usage will reset, your speeds will go back up, and you will start the process again.
This system is designed to allow Telkom to protect the integrity of their network for all users, in the long term.
