Switching to Webafrica from another ISP: Frequently Asked Questions

Will my Fibre turn off?

No. Provided your current ISP is providing your internet via an underlying service provider who we carry (for example Vumatel, Octotel, Openserve, Frogfoot, Maboneng, Teralink, SADV, Evotel, etc) there shouldn’t be any downtime at all.

How it works is that they will release your line into the holding pool, and we will pick it up right away.

How long will it take to switch?

From our side, the moment you let us know that your line is released, we will pick it up and activate you as a Webafrica customer. How long it takes us to do this is subject to how long it takes your current ISP to cancel your current subscription and release your line.

What if Webafrica doesn’t carry the underlying infrastructure I am currently on?

We support all of the major Fibre Network Operators (FNOs). If you are with one of the few FNOs that we don’t offer, we may need to have a line installed for you before we can provide you with Fibre (provided one of our FNOs is available in your area). You can find more information on the installation times from each of our providers and which new providers we have on offer, on our Fibre page.

We currently offer Fibre via the following FNOs:

  • Vuma (Vumatel / Vuma aerial / SADV / Vuma Reach)
  • Octotel
  • Openserve
  • FrogFoot
  • Evotel
  • Mitsol
  • Lightstruck
  • Clear Access
  • Link Africa
  • LinkLayer
  • Fibre Geeks
  • Zoom Fibre
  • MetroFibre
  • Teralink
  • Vodacom Fibre

Please note: All Webafrica deals and packages are subject to change without notification. These include our terms and conditions as it relates to costs and deal/package structures for all of our service providers.
